Ileana Nikitakis helps professional women post concussion improve their headaches, brain fog and exhaustion. After overcoming years of her own health struggles, she became an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach in 2023 so that she could help others do the same. In addition to her passion for health coaching, Ileana has worked as a professional musician, performing and teaching fiddle and violin for over 22 years. This has given her the ability to understand how our brains learn and adapt. She now combines her love of coaching, music, and Mediterranean food culture to help others nourish and improve their brain health.

My Story

From Frustration to Free!

When I was 23, I felt like I was on top of the world. I moved to Texas and was ready to jump into my dream life, but life had different plans. After several accidents and mishaps which resulted in a head injury, I found myself struggling with POST CONCUSSION SYNDROME.

Migraines became so frequent, and daily headaches were a constant reminder that I was still carrying a head on my shoulders. My back felt like the muscles were made of rocks. To add insult to injury, I also began dealing with with food and environmental allergies. The tests my doctors ran kept coming back in the "normal range" and only very few of my allergies were identified - too few to actually do something about them, I was told. This was so frustrating and I can so relate to people who KNOW something is not right, but they cannot find help for it.

The doctors kept telling me to rest and with that I grew more and more frustrated. I would wake up in the morning with my stomach on fire because of stress and undiagnosed food allergies which were only made worse by my recent concussion. The last straw was when I injured my shoulder, which kept me from one of my biggest passions: playing violin. I tried to rest, as I was told, for both my concussion issues and my shoulder, but it didn’t help. I still felt that pounding behind my eyes, saw dark blotches in my vision, and my shoulder still felt like it was on fire, sometimes even worse than before!

I eventually decided to take matters into my own hands. I could not live like this and I started by doing anything that I personally could to change things. I started by changing my diet, exercise habits and overall health awareness. As I began to care for my body, AND my mind, AND my spirit, my health began to improve drastically. The improvement was due not to a single health intervention, but thanks to adopting a holistic approach to my health the pain began to lessen and I noticed how I started to feel like myself again. My mind was getting clearer and there were days without headaches that gradually turned into weeks and then months! I was actually having relaxed evenings and mornings filled with happiness! I was even able to improve so profoundly that I was able to continue to pursue my passion of violin, teaching others and even going on tour and playing in my band! I could never have done that before.

With my own quality of life drastically improved, I pursued professional training to help others facing seemingly insurmountable health challenges navigate their healing journeys. I am now on a mission and passionate about helping other women navigate their healing post concussion. I know how frustrating that journey can be, but you don't have to struggle. My top three goals upon starting the coaching program were to focus on my gut health, establishing a healthy daily routine and find a more holistic perspective towards wellness.

Ileana was able to help me work toward my goals by having weekly check-ins with me. She was great at giving me constructive and positive feedback during our chats. Ileana’s coaching is both therapeutic and practical. She has helped me break down my larger goals into manageable steps that are achievable on a daily basis.
